PM Junior Championship car makes track debut at Silverstone

Preparations for the new PM Junior Championship stepped up further at Silverstone this past weekend (September 26-27) as the series’ prototype car made its public track debut in front of a capacity crowd.

Marking the latest significant milestone for the fledgling category, the Power Maxed Racing built machine - dubbed the PM1 - was put through its paces by multiple Kwik British Touring Car Championship race winner Mikey Doble at the Northamptonshire venue.

Having been revealed to the world at Thruxton in July, the car has been on display at recent BTCC events however this weekend allowed prospective teams, drivers, families and fans to see the car turn a wheel for the first time.

Designed for drivers aged between 14 to 17, Britain’s newest junior racing series has been created to provide a clear, professional and cost-controlled pathway into circuit racing, competing exclusively on the TOCA package.

Leading squad West Surrey Racing have become the first to announce their intentions to run a multi-car programme in the series, with more expected to be confirmed in due course.
