Motorsport at the heart of local communities
The British Automobile Racing Club's Centres bring grassroots motorsport to life across the UK and beyond. From race meetings and sprints to hillclimbs and championships, each Centre has its own character, history and programme of events, but all share the same goal: creating opportunities for people to compete, volunteer and get involved in motorsport.
With five Centres across the UK and a further Centre in Ontario, Canada, there's a BARC community wherever your motorsport journey takes you.
Established in 1987, the BARC Midlands Centre has a long association with grassroots motorsport and has organised events at venues including Mallory Park and Curborough Sprint Course. The Centre also manages the BARC Connaught Speed Championship, providing opportunities for competitors across the region
The BARC North West Centre has been part of the Club since the end of the Second World War, covering Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester. The Centre organises race meetings at Oulton Park and Anglesey and promotes the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship.
The BARC South West Centre has been organising competitive motorsport since the 1950s and is responsible for the iconic Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb. Gurston hosts a busy programme of events throughout the year, including rounds of the British Hillclimb Championship.
The BARC Wales Centre has been organising events since 1960 and is responsible for a programme of sprint meetings across South Wales. The Centre's home venue is Pembrey Circuit, where it helps deliver a wide range of motorsport events throughout the year.
The BARC Yorkshire Centre dates back to 1922 and has played an important role in the Club's activities for more than a century. Today, the Centre oversees Harewood Hillclimb, the longest speed hillclimb course in mainland UK, and organises a programme of events including rounds of the British Hillclimb Championship.
The BARC Ontario Centre is the Club's only Centre outside the British Isles. Founded in 1959 by motorsport enthusiasts in the Toronto area, the Centre organises events in southern Ontario, primarily at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Shannonville Motorsport Park.
