History of British F4
British F4 was introduced in 2015 as MSA Formula, replacing the Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain and becoming the UK's official FIA Formula 4 championship. Designed as the first step on the single-seater ladder, it gave young drivers a clear route from karting towards professional racing.
The championship's inaugural title was won by a 15-year-old Lando Norris, setting the tone for a series that has helped develop some of motorsport's brightest young talents. Oscar Piastri, Zane Maloney, Luke Browning, Alex Dunne and Louis Sharp are among the drivers who have progressed through British F4 on their way up the single-seater ranks.
