Tickets on sale for prestigious BARC Championship Awards Evening in February

Champions, marshals and officials are set to be honoured at the British Automobile Racing Club’s annual Championship Awards Evening on Saturday 8th February 2020, with the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth confirmed to once again host the prestigious event.

Celebrating the 2019 season in fine style, race suits and overalls will be swapped for black ties and ball gowns as the great and good of UK motorsport come together for what should be another unforgettable night.

Whilst those who emerged victorious from their respective categories over the course of the season will take centre stage, several other ‘secret’ awards will be handed out during the evening as well – adding further excitement to the spectacle.

Hosted by Alan Hyde, the star-studded evening is set to include a three-course dinner and raffle in addition to the customary trophy presentation. Entertainment will come in the shape of popular cover band ‘The Torn Off Strips’.

BARC signs off 2019 season in spectacular style at Brands Hatch

The British Automobile Racing Club set pulses racing for one final time in 2019 this past weekend (November 9/10) as it brought the curtain down on a memorable year of track action at Brands Hatch, with several championships taking centre centre.

In what has been another action-packed season of top-draw motorsport from the Club’s categories, the famous Kent venue provided a fitting backdrop to end a pulsating campaign which began back in March.

Going wheel-to-wheel into the night, the Dunlop Endurance Championship had fans on the captivated from start-to-finish as a bumper grid of eye-catching cars went wheel-to-wheel around the challenging Indy circuit.

On its eagerly-anticipated debut, the Brabham B62 was a success straight out of the blocks as David Brabham and Will Powell stormed to victory in the opening encounter of the weekend. Mechanical issues would unfortunately cost them a chance of repeating the feat in race two.

Instead, spoils fell the way of Mike Moss and Ollie Hancock in their BMW 1M – the pair exerting their dominance to lap almost the entire field and take the chequered flag by more than 30 seconds in the end.

James Taylor took a clean sweep of victories to be crowned the Ginetta Junior Winters Series champion. Heading an ultra-competitive entry list of teenage racers, Taylor asserted his dominance across both days to lift the coveted title.

Powering his way to pole position on Saturday, the Elite Motorsport driver tallied a pair of race wins to hold the overnight lead in the points. On Sunday, two more wins were added to his record, guaranteeing him the highly sought after crown.

There were similar levels of dominance in the Carbon8 Hyundai Coupe Cup too as Wayne Rockett was perfection personified, taking a brace of wins. Having won ten of the 12 races that had been staged heading into the weekend, Rockett lived up to his mantel of being the driver to beat.

Setting an impressive time during qualifying, the multiple race-winner cemented his status as the most successful driver in the series for 2019 with a pair of spellbinding performances.

The Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Challenge delivered two hours of enthralling action on Sunday, culminating in the MSAR Old Hat Motorsport duo of Daniel Bruce and Callum Hutchings taking victory by little over nine seconds.

Niall Bradley and Rod Birley were the winners of the weekend’s two CMMC Tin Tops & Amusetime Production Saloons races whilst Colin Peacock rounded the list of race winners, claiming a sensational hat-trick in the Dunlop Mini Se7en & Mini Miglia Championship.

BARC to bring the curtain down on 2019 season at Brands Hatch

The British Automobile Racing Club is set to race into the night and into the off-season at Brands Hatch this weekend (November 9/10) as the famous Kent venue plays host to the final race meeting of 2019.

In what has been another blockbuster year for the Club – which has seen countless events at circuits around the country – the curtain will fall on the 2019 campaign in what is being predicted to be enthralling style.

Taking centre stage with two long-distance races around the Indy layout will be the Dunlop Endurance Championship. With the overall title still to be settled, the Ferrari 488 Challenge duo of Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz find themselves in the pound seat and on the cusp of the glory.

However, before they can savour the spoils of a season-long title challenge, the pair will have to fend off the advances of the chasing pack across two enthralling encounters that will continue into darkness.

Following what has been a historic year, the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Challenge will draw to a close for another year with a bumper entry list revved up for its two-hour finale.

After setting a new British record at Silverstone for the largest-ever starting grid back in April, the popular one-make series has proven to be a smash-hit once again – with more excitement destined to play out over the course of the weekend.

Wayne Rockett has been the cream of the crop in the Carbon8 Hyundai Coupe Cup this year, winning ten of the 12 scheduled races so far, and he is looking to add two more to his tally during the weekend.

Enjoying another action-packed year, an ultra-competitive grid has gone wheel-to-wheel from the get-go and expect a host of drivers to challenge Rockett all the way to the final lap of the season.

Ginetta will end its season on a high with its Junior Winter Series; the annual end-of-season spectacular that has become renowned as a proving ground for the stars of the following season.

With the last seven Winter Series champions having gone on to finish in the top two in the main championship the next year, the competition is fierce and this year’s entry list boasts a host of potential winners.

Amongst those to look out for include James Taylor, Josh Rattican, Joel Pearson, Bailey Voisin, Aston Millar and Ben Kasperczak – in addition to a host of others.

Rounding out the weekend’s on-track entertainment will be races from the Dunlop Winter Mini Challenge supported by Mini Spares and a string of Open Tin Top encounters.

BARC makes a splash at Oulton Park title-decider

The British Automobile Racing Club and four of its championships battled treacherous conditions at Oulton Park this past weekend (October 26) for what proved to be a blockbuster title-decider around the challenging Cheshire venue.

Organised and run by the Club’s North West Centre, the one-day meeting was greeted by heavy rain throughout the day – adding further spice to the on-track excitement and entertainment.

In the Michelin Clio Cup Series, spoils were shared between Ronan Pearson and Ben Colburn; however Pearson had much more to celebrate as he wrapped up the Race Class title due to main rival Simon Freeman not being in attendance.

James Colburn and Nic Harrison had both secured unassailable leads in the Sport and Road classes respectively prior to the event, therefore bringing the curtain down on another memorable year for the one-make category.

The Dunlop Endurance Championship took centre stage for its penultimate event of the 2019 season and it served up two pulsating one-hour encounters.

Valluga Racing’s Ian Humphires was the driver to beat in the opener as he powered his Porsche 991 to a comfortable victory before JPR Motorsport’s Steve Harris and Chris Hart came to the fore to win race two in their Sakar RAPX.

There was title celebrations in the Mighty Minis Championship too, which delivered a show-stopping performance around the flowing bends of Oulton Park.

Neven Kirkpatrick converted his healthy points lead into title glory in the Super Mighty Mini category by romping to a pair of outright race wins and putting himself out of touch of his nearest challenger.

In the Mighty Mini class, the battle for supremacy went down to the wire but in the end it was Greg Daw that reigned supreme to be crowned champion by just a handful of points.

Rounding out the day’s action were two races from the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship; the North West Centre’s flagship racing series.

Open to a variety of different cars, another bumper entry list went wheel-to-wheel for the final time this year with Paul Dobson winning both in his Locost 7.

In terms of the overall championship, Robert Burkinshaw maintained his place at the summit of the standings to triumph in his trusty Honda Integra.

Three championships set for Oulton Park title showdown

The British Automobile Racing Club will pay its final visit of the 2019 season to Oulton Park this weekend (October 26) with three out of four championships revved up and ready for a title-deciding day of full-throttle action.

Organised and run by the Club’s North West Centre, the Cheshire venue is set to play a host to a memorable day of ultra-competitive racing which will see champions crowned at the very end.

Headlining the day’s timetable will be two pulsating one-hour encounters from the Dunlop Endurance Championship. Showcasing an eclectic mix of jaw-dropping machinery across multiple classes, the series has continued to grow in stature throughout the year and after a gruelling season, Saturday marks the penultimate event of the year.

Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz hold the initiative at the top of the standings, the pair having been in superlative form at the wheel of their Ferrari 488 Challenge since the get-go. Behind, Tim Docker trails by 19 points whilst the Porsche pairing of Mark and Peter Cunningham can’t be discounted either.

Like the Dunlop Endurance Championship, it is all to play for in the Michelin Clio Cup Series. After 12 frenetic races, both Ronan Pearson and Simon Freeman enter the season finale tied on points and ready to duke it out one final time to decide who will be champion.

James Colburn and Nic Harrison have already secured unassailable leads in both the Sport and Road classes; but don’t expect either of them, along with a host of others, to not make their mark too.

Double points across the final two races of the BARC North West Centre’s flagship category, the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship, will added further spice what is already a captivating series.

Open to all manner of machinery, the multi-class championship has seen its fair share of excitement and drama this year, and Saturday could see Robert Burkinshaw covert his healthy points lead into a title victory.

Rounding out the day’s action at Oulton Park will be a pair of races from the Mighty Minis Championship. Small in stature but packing a punch under the bonnet, this iconic series has served up a feast of entertainment

The Mighty Mini class will see Greg Daw and Paul Ogborn go wheel-to-wheel for the coveted crown whilst Neven Kirkpatrick and Steven Rideout will do the same in the Super Mighty Mini class.

With champions to be crowned and the challenging demands of Oulton Park set to play its part as well, this Saturday’s race day is set to be an unmissable event.

Snetterton plays host to memorable BARC summer spectacle

Snetterton played host to an action-packed two days of British Automobile Racing Club entertainment this past weekend (August 10/11) as several championships descended on the Norfolk venue for a spectacular summer showcase.

Boasting a bumper bill of track action, the Club’s second consecutive weekend at the East Anglia track proved to be full of the typical thrills and spills that fans have become accustomed to – with several drivers and team producing dominant displays.

The Team ABBA Racing duo of Richard Neary and Sam Neary were one of those to exert their dominance over the course of the weekend as they reigned supreme in the Dunlop Endurance Championship.

Sharing the driving duties of their Mercedes AMG GT GT3, the pair proved to be in a league of their own around the 2.97-mile layout as they scored victory in both one-hour encounters.

Those in attendance were treated to further endurance antics from the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series on Sunday as the popular one-make category staged its latest three-hour race, with a staggering 52-car entry list.

Following a total of 60 laps being completed, McAttack Racing’s Simon Walker-Hansell, Joe Wiggin and Declan McDonnell tallied another stellar victory – albeit by less than a second from their nearest rivals.

Paul Roddison reestablished himself as the man to beat in the Max5 Racing Championship, scoring a brace of race wins. After seeing his winning streak ended at the previous event, Roddison bounced back in style to dominate proceedings in both encounters.

Rick Morris was another driver to enjoy a near-perfect weekend around the challenging 2.97-mile circuit as he triumphed in the Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship; wrestling back control of the title fight from Tim Harvey.

Spoils were shared between Ronan Pearson and James Colburn in the Michelin Clio Cup Series whilst the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship saw victory fall the way of Steve McDermid.

Capping of the weekend’s action were a trio of races from the new-for-2019 UK Sports Prototype Cup, which saw Rob Wheldon and Jon Macrae power their way to the top step of the podium.

BARC heads back to Snetterton for action-packed club weekend

The British Automobile Racing Club descends on Snetterton this weekend (August 10/11) for the second of three consecutive events in East Anglia – with seven championships all revved up to take centre stage.

Following on from last weekend’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship meeting and ahead of next weekend’s 2CV Racing season finale, the Norfolk venue will play host to what is set to be an action-packed two days of racing.

Topping the bill on Saturday will be two one-hour encounters from the Dunlop Endurance Championship, which is reaching the business end of the 2019 campaign. Showcasing some of the most jaw-dropping cars to compete in the UK, a bumper grid will hit the track for the latest chapter of another

Ferrari 488 Challenge duo Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz lead the way heading into the sixth meeting of the year but nothing is guaranteed – with a long line of contenders all hot on their heels and ready to pounce.

Single seater thrills and spills will come in the shape of the Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship around the 2.97-mile layout as Tim Harvey and Rick Morris renew their duel at the standings summit.

Just a single point separates the pair heading into the weekend and both will be eager to open up and advantage over the other. Elsewhere; Mike Gardner, Stuart Kestenbaum and Mark Armstrong are just three of several drivers all aiming to put themselves into the win bracket.

The battle for supremacy in the Max5 Racing Championship is set to further intensify too, with Paul Roddison aiming to get back to winning ways. after seeing his unbeaten streak come to an end at Mallory Park courtesy of Ian Loversidge.

Setting his sights on a return to the top step of the podium, Roddison will be a hard challenge to beat however the likes of Jeremy Shipley, Andrew Pretorius, Chris Clarke and Ben Thompson are likely to be in the mix across the weekend’s two races too.

Fans of tin top racing will be well-catered for too over the course of the weekend with no less than three championships set to get those in attendance on the edge of their seats. Retro entertainment will come in the shape of the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship whilst the Michelin Clio Cup Series is one not to be missed as an ultra-competitive grid of hat hatches goes wheel-to-wheel.

Arguably one of the highlights on Sunday will be the latest instalment of the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series. Enjoying what is a history-making year for the one-make category, another ultra-competitive line-up gets ready to battle for race honours with a three-hour encounter bringing the curtain down on the weekend.

Front-running teams that have entered to keep a watchful eye on include Amigo Motorsport, McAttack Racing, Diablo Racing and Spy Motorsport – to name but a few.

Rounding out the weekend’s action at Snetterton will be the latest rounds of the new-for-2019 UK Sports Prototype Cup. Growing in stature as each month passes, the category – which caters for both Revolution Race Cars and Radicals – has garnered rave reviews already.

Trio of BARC categories produce scorching displays at Oulton Park

The British Automobile Racing Club produced a scorching race day at Oulton Park this past Saturday (June 22) as three championships continued their 2019 seasons around the demanding International layout.

Organised and run by the Club’s North West Centre, the Cheshire venue welcomed the Dunlop Endurance Championship, CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship and the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship for a summer spectacular.

Boasting a bumper grid of jaw-dropping machines, the Dunlop Endurance Championship wrote a familiar chapter in its season storybook as two teams reigned supreme across the pair of one-hour races that took place.

Entering the weekend sitting at the summit of the standings, the SB Race Engineering Ferrari 488 duo of Paul Bailey and Andy Schultz dominated qualifying as they stormed to pole position by little under a second.

The duo then converted their front row start into yet another race win as they took the chequered flag by more than 40 seconds ahead of their nearest challengers.

Valluga Racing came to the fore later in the day in race two as Ian Humphries drove his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car to victory.

Just one race from the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship was run in the end as the multi-class series reached the halfway point in its campaign. With a bumper grid all setting their sights on the infamous Dave Simpson Trophy, the battle for supremacy was a fierce as ever.

In the end, nobody was able to stop Danny Winstanley as he piloted his Caterham Superlight to an emphatic victory, crossing the line 41 seconds ahead of his nearest challenger. David Harvey and Paul Dobson round out the podium positions in second and third respectively.

The 13-lap encounter also saw Chris Maries reach a special milestone as he competed in his 200th race in the championship. He capped off the moment by powering his Honda Integra to a tenth place finish.

Spoils were shared in the two Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship races as Adam Jackson and Simon Kendrick both took a win apiece.

Starting from pole position, Jackson was served up a lights-to-flag performance in the opening encounter as he powered his MG ZR to a dominant victory ahead of Kendrick and Steve McDermid.

Jackson’s aspirations of making it two from two later in the day however were halted after a couple of laps as he was forced to retire. That left Kendrick to take advantage and narrowly edge out McDermid by little over half a second in his MG F VVC, whilst Steve Darbey rounded out the rostrum in third.

Oulton Park beckons for trio of BARC championships

The British Automobile Racing Club returns to Oulton Park this Saturday (June 22) for what should be a pulsating race day of acton, headlined by no less than three championships.

Organised and run by the Club’s North West Centre, the Cheshire venue is set to play host to the latest chapter of each categories campaigns and the traditional thrills and spills are expected to play out around the challenging 2.39 International layout.

Topping the bill will be the Dunlop Endurance Championship with two one-hour encounters. Showcasing the very best in supercar machinery, a glittering array of drivers will share driving duties as they duke it out for the latest pair of race wins that are up for grabs.

The Ferrari 488 Challenge duo of Paul Bailey and Andy Schultz lead the way as it stand but as Britcar has proved on countless occasions this year already, anything can happen and anyone can emerge victorious.

The CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Car Championship, the BARC NW Centre’s flagship series, will also be in action as it makes its second visit to Oulton Park this year. Boasting another bumper entry list, a 30-car grid will duke it out for the Dave Simpson Memorial Trophy.

In what will be the halfway mark in the season for the championship, the battle for supremacy is set to be an intriguing one with Jon Woolfitt, Andrew Southcott and Danny Bird, all race winners this year, headlining the entry.

There will be plenty of high-octane entertainment from the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship too as it takes fans on a spirited trip down memory lane as machines from a variety of eras go wheel-to-wheel.

Running under a multi-class format, the single manufacturer championship has wowed crowds at Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park so far, with Oulton Park set to be no different.

Two races are sure to set pulses racing with the likes of Jim Baynam, James Pryor, Sarah Sullivan, Stuart Plotnek, Simon Kendrick and Steve Darbey, amongst others, being in contention for outright and individual class honours.

Donington Park plays host to memorable BARC weekend

Donington Park welcomed the British Automobile Racing Club this past weekend (June 1/2) for an entertaining two days of racing which saw a total of six championships in action.

Descending on the Leicestershire venue with the Motorsport UK British Superkart GP headlining the weekend’s action, those in attendance were treated to a mouth-watering array of wheel-to-wheel action from start to finish.

Providing a slip-streaming masterclass, the British Superkart Championship offered up huge grids and plenty of thrills along the way too. In the combined F250, F450 & Division 1 races; Liam Morley and Peter Elkmann tasted victory whilst the F125 class saw Kirk Cattermole and Morley triumph.

The coveted Motorsport UK British Superkart GP served up plenty of entertainment as the weekends centrepiece with Elkmann winning the Division 1 race, Paul Platt the F250/F450 National and Morley the F125 Open category.

On Saturday, the Dunlop Endurance Championship took to the spotlight as it staged its latest two one-hour races under the flight path of East Midlands airport. Following a pulsating qualifying session, race one spoils fell the way of the MacG Racing Taranis, driven by Jonny MacGregor.

Having finished as runners-up earlier in the day, VR Motorsport bounced back in the second Britcar encounter to score victory in race two. Tim Gray and Alastair Boulton shared driving duties of the impressive Praga R1T to finish nearly half a minute of their nearest challengers.

The BARC Clubmans Sports Prototype Championship in association with King Henry’s Taverns was back in action with another pulsating triple-header. Peter Richings claimed overall honours in the opening race of the weekend as he added to his already impressive 2019 win tally.

Races two and three saw Clive Wood and Steve Dickens come to the fore as they made it three different winners from three races.

Elsewhere, the Caterham Graduates Championship welcomed one of the biggest grids of its already successful season with more 50 cars battling it out over the course of the two days.

Stephen Clark and Samuel Wilson were the victors in the combined Sigmax, Mega & Classic races whilst Luke Balmforth and Jason McCormack did the same in the amalgamated Sigma 125, 135 & 150 class encounters.

The Lancaster Insurance MG Owner’s Club Championship saw honours even between William Sharpe and Steve McDermid as they each took a win apiece at the wheel of their MG ZR’s.

Following on from a ground-breaking inaugural event at Silverstone in April, the UK Sports Prototype Cup was back in action. Encompassing both the Radical and Revolution classes, a healthy grid of 12 competitors battled it out for supremacy.

Rob Wheldon set his stall out as the driver to beat in races one and two as he romped to victory however his chances of competing a sensational hat-trick were halted by James Abbott, who ended the weekend topping the podium.

BARC championships descend on Donington Park

The British Automobile Racing Club heads to Leicestershire this weekend (June 1/2) to tackle the sweeping curves of Donington Park as six championships continue their 2019 campaigns.

In what is the beginning of a busy summer of track action for the Club, the challenging demands of Donington Park are set to provide a stern test as many categories begin to edge towards the second half of their seasons.

Topping the bill and likely to set pulses racing under the flightpath of East Midlands airport will be the British Superkart Championship. Headlining the weekend’s action with its Superkart GP races, edge-of-the-seat entertainment is guaranteed when it comes to Superkarts.

Small in stature but able to clock eye-watering speeds, the very best karting drivers in the country will be going wheel-to-wheel in a bid to top the podium – and it is not to be missed.

From the extremes of superkarts to supercars, and the Dunlop Endurance Championship – which will hit the track once again for another two one-hour encounters. Marking the fourth event of the season for Britcar, an eclectic mix of machinery will again do battle for outright honours.

The Ferrari 488 Challenge pairing of Paul Bailey and Andy Schultz were the team to beat last time out at Brands Hatch, winning both races, and they enter the weekend at the summit of the standings. However, hot on the heels of the duo are a raft of front-running contenders all capable of throwing themselves into the fight at the front.

Another bumper entry list has been confirmed for the Caterham Graduates Championship with four races scheduled to be run over the course of the weekend. Renowned for producing close wheel-to-wheel action, the multi-class series will undoubtedly be one to watch.

Notable names to keep an eye on to challenge towards the sharp end include Samuel Wilson, Mark Carter, Jamie Ellwood, Kevin Barnett and Luke Balmforth, amongst many more.

The BARC Clubmans Sports Prototype Championship in association with King Henry’s Taverns have been hugely entertaining so far this year and that theme is set to continue at Donington.

In cars that boast a rich history, Clubmans are prototype front-engined sports racing cars that are not only easy to drive but are also affectionately known as ‘slicks and wings’ machines.

Peter Richings, Morris Hart, Clive Wood and Barry Webb are just four of the drivers to keep an eye on over the course of the weekend having already starred.

All eras of MG will be showcased at the weekend too as the Lancaster Insurance MG Owner’s Club Championship takes centre stage for the third time this year. Spanning several decades, some of the most iconic tin top machines from the manufacturer will be out on track.

With events at Silverstone and Brands Hatch already in the books, the battle for supremacy is set to rage on even further within the multi-class category.

Rounding out the weekend’s action at Donington Park will be a pair of races from the UK Sports Prototype Cup. Breaking cover at Silverstone in late April, the series – which encompasses both the Radical and Revolution classes – will be keen to write another chapter in its ever-developing story.

BARC battles changeable conditions at breathtaking Brands Hatch meeting

The British Automobile Racing Club battled changeable conditions to serve up a spectacular two days of track action this past weekend (May 11/12) at Brands Hatch, with a host of championships taking centre stage.

Marking the latest visit to the Kent venue by the Club, the Indy circuit saw treacherous rain and bright sunshine play its part over the course of both days, further spicing up the on-track action.

Following two events at Silverstone, the a bumper entry list in the Dunlop Endurance Championship produced two pulsating one-hour races. SB Race Engineering emerged as the team to beat during Saturday with the Ferrari 488 Challenge duo of Paul Bailey and Andy Schultz triumphing on both occasions.

Bailey and Schultz got the best of the conditions in race one to triumph more than half a minute ahead of Paul Rose, who ended the race as their nearest challengers. With the weather taking a turn for the better later in the day, the Ferrari pairing produced a similar level of dominance in race two.

Hitting the front early on, the duo made their escape out front and were ultimately never challenged, ultimately crossing the line by more than 40 seconds ahead of Lee Frost in his Ginetta G55.

The Michelin Clio Cup Series returned to action in style with three exciting races playing out around the 1.2 mile layout. Showcasing two generations of Clio machinery, the one-make category had those in attendance on the edge of their seats.

Simon Freeman, James Colburn and Nic Harrison claimed individual honours in their respective classes in the opening race before the trio did the same later in the day.

Amalgamating with the BARC Tin Tops Championship, the final race of the day – which wasn’t eligible for championship points – saw Tyler Lidsey end the weekend on the top step of the podium.

Garrie Whittaker continued to reign supreme in the Kumho BMW Championship as he extended his advantage at the summit of the multi-class standings. Having been the man to beat at both Oulton Park and Castle Combe, the E36 M3 driver showed no signs of letting up as adding to his silverware collection.

Lapping up to sixth place, Whittaker was unstoppable in race one as he scored his fifth win of the year, and he dually added to his tally later in the afternoon with another imperious drive. Whittaker then extended his winning streak with another dominant performance later in the day, scoring victory once more.

The Lancaster Insurance MG Owner’s Club Championship boasted a bumper 24-car grid and it too provided unmissable track action. Race one ended in dramatic fashion as leader Lee Sullivan saw his hopes of triumphing diminish following an engine failure, gifting William Sharpe and his MG ZR victory.

Simon Kendrick was the man to beat in the MGOC’s second race as he got the better of Steve Darbey and Mark Baker in his MG F VVC.

In the BARC Tin Tops Championship, Chris Whiteman and Terry Stephens claimed outright honours to top the rostrum.

Capping off the weekend’s action were several demonstration sessions from the SmarTrack Series Elite contingent. Two Jaguar Project 8 cars took to the circuit to give fans and potential competitors a flavour of what is come to from the series over the course of the forthcoming year.
