The Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW

One-make tin-top saloon championships always provide a spectacle for spectators and action packed racing inside bumper grids for drivers. The VERTU MINI CHALLENGE JCW is no different and ever since its inclusion into the British Automobile Racing Club TOCA package in 2020, the MINI Challenge JCW class has fast become one of the county’s leading single-make categories and it continues to provide close competitive racing as well as a ladder of progression for rising talent who look to step into the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Aligning itself with the BARC as well as the BTCC, the series provides a combination of class structure, cost effectiveness, professionalism and unrivalled exposure. Attracting capacity grids and producing ultra-competitive racing, the CHALLENGE JCW Championship caters for the latest version of MINI’s two-litre hot hatchback and it runs on Goodyear slick racing tyres.

The championship shares the billing with the BTCC on seven weekends up and down the country with races at Croft, Knockhill, Oulton Park, Donington and Silverstone featuring 20 rounds – all serving up intense racing action – with the eagerly anticipated finale on the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

The top of the tree is the 265bhp JCW class, which is supported by the halfway house 225bhp JCW Sport Class and at some meetings – the entry level 130bhp 1.6-litre Cooper class using the older generation supermini.

Billed as a unique stepping stone into the UK’s premier motorsport series; previous winners of the MINI Challenge JCW include reigning champion Dan Zelos, Sam Weller, Ant Whorton-Eales and Brett Smith.

Motorsport fans will be able to watch all the action from the Vertu Mini Challenge JCW race weekends LIVE on ITV4 and ITVX – with a comprehensive day of racing coverage on Sundays alongside the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship
