Classic Touring Car Racing Club: Super Tourer Series

The iconic touring cars of yesteryear are ready to wind back the clock for another scintillating season with the home of touring cars, the British Automobile Racing Club welcoming the nineties legends to the opening BARC weekend.

If there was ever a period for the British Touring Car Championship, the mid to late nineties was the time – with world class drivers, a whole list of automotive manufacturer teams and almost bottomless pit budgets – the series was a motorsporting spectacle that challenged Formula One for viewership.

Fast forward to 2025 – 25 years on since the end of the Super Touring formula, the Classic Touring Car Racing Club Super Tourer Series keep the memories alive, with the iconic cars still racing and racing hard by some of the best national racing drivers.

Cars such as the Vauxhall Vectra driven by the likes of John Cleland and Jason Plato in period will race bumper-to-bumper with BMWs, Fords, Hondas, Nissans and Peugeots from the same era.

Donington Park was always a spectacle for tin-top action back in the day, and it is set to be no different, with a new season ready to get underway at the Leicestershire circuit under the stewardship of the BARC before a country-trotting championship will follow.

Family, friends and motorsport fans will be able to watch all the action from the BARC race weekends LIVE on our YouTube channel – with a comprehensive day of racing coverage planned. www.youtube.com/@britishautomobileracingclub

The 2025 season for the British Automobile Racing Club gets underway at Donington Park on the 22/23 March, with the Super Tourers joining the opening billing.
