Britcar has today (September 24) announced that it is poised to embark on an exciting new era in 2025 with a new format of the Britcar Endurance Championship.

Following the conclusion of this year’s campaign, the organisers have announced that the British Endurance Championship (BEC) and Britcar Trophy Championship will amalgamate to form one single Championship for the 2025 season.

Going back to its original title – The Britcar Endurance Championship – the championship will include six competitor classes and feature of a mixture of one 90-minute or two 45-minute races across eight rounds – all of which will take place at major UK circuits.

Classes are set to mirror the old BEC and Trophy structures, with the top class featuring Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Cup cars. GT4 and cars of similar performance within the Trophy category – including the ever-competitive Clios – will round out the remaining classes.

Cars will run on Goodyear or Dunlop Direzza race tyres accordingly and performance is set to be balanced both technically and for individual Pro-Am pairings, by allotted pit stop timings, through and within the class structure.

Claire Hedley, Britcar Managing Director, said: “We’re extremely excited to be announcing the revamped Britcar Endurance Championship and are confident that it will mark the start of an exciting new chapter.

“In response to the current climate of endurance racing, and after reflecting on the 2024 season, we feel that it necessary to bring our two flagship championships together to run on one single grid.

“There a multitude of benefits for doing this, not least that we will see packed grids of fantastic machines battling it out across the length and breadth of the UK. I’d like to thank all of our partners, teams and drivers for supporting this decision and look forward to 2025.

“Also, we are so pleased to bring the infamous Night Race back to Brands which was so popular and we’re confident that people are still wanting it and it’s now in our calendar.”
