The Sports Prototype Cup will field the biggest grid of its short history later this month as it takes centre stage alongside the Formula 1 Heineken Grande Prémio De Portugal at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.

Announced as a support race for Formula 1’s return to Portugal on October 24/25, the ever-growing category will look to make its mark on the weekend with two races – one before f1 qualifying on Saturday and the other before the Grand Prix on Sunday.

As it stands, a total of 20 drivers have entered to compete, with 17 Revolution A-One machines set to hit the track. The appetite to race in the series is underlined by its rapid rise having only debuted a little over a year ago.

Heading the entry list – which boasts drivers from ten different nationalities – is 2020 race winners Alex Kapadia and Morten Dons, whilst many will be keen to see how Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy fares.

We only announced this race eight weeks ago and for twenty drivers to commit in such a short period of time provides us with a great platform ahead of the 2021 season.”
