The Britcar Endurance Championship enters a brand-new era in 2025 as it hits the track with a new format, with both the British Endurance Championship and the Britcar Trophy Championship amalgamating to create bumper grids – with 37 cars due to take to the start of the opening weekend.
The Briticar series features six competitor classes and a mixture of one 90-minute or two 45-minute races in a weekend, across eight rounds – all of which will take place at major UK circuits. The classes mirror the old BEC and Trophy structures, with the top class – ‘Class Challenge’ featuring the Ferrari Challenge and Porsche Cup cars at the top end of national endurance racing. GT4 and cars of similar performance such as the Ginetta G55 are housed within the GT and Ginetta classes, while the Trophy category is the welcome home to TCR touring cars. The Cup and Clio classes are the base for the smaller, yet agile sports and saloon cars which on their day can be as equally competitive.
Cars will run on Goodyear or Dunlop Direzza race tyres accordingly, and performance is balanced both technically and for individual Pro-Am pairings, by allotted pit stop timings, across and within the class structure.
As to where the championship will be going in 2025, the Britcar teams will face eight events across England, with trips to Thruxton, Silverstone (International and GP), Brands Hatch, Donington, Snetterton and Oulton Park all on the eagerly anticipated roster.
The 2025 season for the Britcar Endurance Championship in partnership with the British Automobile Racing Club gets underway at Silverstone on the 5th April, with the International layout first up.
