Festive thrills at Thruxton with discounted tickets and driving days

12 Dec 17

Thruxton Circuit has a real cracker of a Christmas gift selection for the petrolhead in your life this year – from sensational supercar driving experiences to action-packed touring car thrills and Britain’s best superbike stars!

Let’s face it, there’s little point in having a super-quick supercar if you can’t drive it the way its designers intended, and Thruxton offers the ideal environment – you don’t even need to own the car.

For starters, how many opportunities do you get to fling a Ferrari 458 Spider around the fastest track in Britain, following expert advice – not to mention a few spectacular sideways slides – from former Formula 1 and Le Mans racer and Top Gear TV star Tiff Needell in his BMW M4?

Talking of the best of British, the elegant Jaguar F-Type Coupé and carbon-fibre McLaren 570S – a magnificent piece of machinery that boasts the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class – have proven to be popular draws. If James Bond is more the theme, the quintessentially British and very 007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 awaits. Around Thruxton’s sweeping curves, it’ll be sure to leave its occupants feeling shaken, not stirred.

Experiences range from as little as £79 for a three-lap Porsche Cayman Thrill to the all-encompassing Ultimate Supercar Driving Experience, including 28 laps of driving time and high-speed passenger runs as well as a phenomenal single-seater blast. Whatever you choose, an unforgettable white-knuckle ride is guaranteed.

Juniors – aged 12 and above – can learn all the essential skills in the impressive Porsche Cayman, whilst Thruxton’s state-of-the-art skid pan and purpose-built 4x4 off-roading facility offer an altogether different challenge in terms of car control.

All experiences start with expert tuition from fully-qualified racing instructors, and gift vouchers – beginning at just £50 – remain valid for one year from date of purchase.

If watching trackside is more of a draw, the action doesn’t get much hotter than when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) rolls into town – which it will do on 19/20 May for one of Thruxton’s biggest race meetings of the year.

Discounted advance tickets start at just £12 for Saturday (qualifying) admission, with Sunday (race day) tickets available for £28 and a weekend super-saver (including grandstand seat, paddock pass and race programme) reduced from £85 to just £57 until 31 December only – perfect for a stocking-filler.

Later in the summer, the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will keep two-wheeled fans on the edge of their seats on 3-5 August. Discounted advance tickets to watch free practice on the Friday are only £5, rising to £12 for qualifying on Saturday and £28 for the racing on Sunday.

Three-day tickets are available for just £45, while until 31 December, the three-day super-saver – including grandstand seat, paddock pass and race programme – is reduced from £93 to £64.
