One of the marque events of the year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, will see the great and the good of motorsport come together for four days of flat-out entertainment later this week (29 June – 2 July).
With a mouth-watering array of machines tackling the infamous hill in West Sussex, a huge crowd is expected to descend on the grounds to soak up everything that there is to see.
The central feature in front of Goodwood House will this year celebrate the life of an individual for the first time this year, rather than the history of a carmaking brand.
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and extraordinary life in motorsport will form the basis of the feature with the Festival exploring the ‘Five Ages of Ecclestone’; Driver, Manager, Team owner, Impresario and Legend.
On the rhythm tarmac running in front of the house, there will be plenty to see across all four days. Supercars and the first glance displays will run twice a day. The new-for-2017 Drift Competition will have some familiar faces producing plenty of sideways entertainment.
At the other end of the spectrum will be a jaw-dropping collection of Ferrari single-seaters and sportscars as the Italian brands 70th anniversary is marked.
Nico Rosberg, 2016 Formula 1 champion, has been enjoying his retirement this year but will get back behind-the-wheel to make his second successive appearance at FoS.
With plenty more star motorsport personalities and a plethora of iconic machines all either on display or turning a wheel, there is something for everyone at Goodwood.
