BARC Connaught Speed Championship

BARC SPEED CHAMPIONSHIP Catering for every kind of vehicle from standard production to single-seater racing cars, this popular Championship provides an enjoyable, engaging and truly competitive environment for established drivers. What’s more, for new drivers and those currently considering competitive motorsport, it offers an accessible and affordable point of entry. Places are open to all BARC members, plus members of motorsport clubs affiliated to one of five regional associations.* Supported by a new title sponsor, Connaught Competition Engines, the 2018 Championship will feature twenty-five rounds at some of the best circuit, sprint and hillclimb venues in the UK, with your choice of ten rounds counting to the final award. This nationwide programme of diverse driving environments allows you to plan according to your location, ability and budget. Scoring is based on established class records, providing the opportunity for all competitors to accumulate points and ensuring that everyone has a fair chance of taking home a prize.

The overall BARC Speed Championship winner receives the unique Wilkinson Sword for one year, £200 and a trophy, with £75 and a trophy for second place. There are trophies for all class winners too. In addition to the main prize, there are five category awards available to all BARC Speed Championship competitors. Together, these deliver even more winning opportunities, offering a combination of cash prizes and trophies.

The Raymond Good FTD Handicap Trophy

Calculated using a handicap system, this provides £100 for first place and £75 for second place, plus trophies for both.

Insite Graphics Challenge Trophy

With the best eight scores used to calculate first and second place, there’s £100 and £75, plus Insite trophies, available respectively.

Down to Earth Ladies Award

Open to all ladies competing in the BARC Speed Championship, Down to Earth provides a £100 first place prize and £25 for second place, plus trophies for both.

RCL Top Six Challenge Trophy

Based on accumulated points for fastest times, there are trophies available for both first and second place.

The Emerald Award

Open exclusively to production and road-going classes, the winner receives a full days use of Emerald’s superb rolling road and set-up facilities.
