The Scrapco Metal Recyling/ Avon Tyres Intermarque championship is a “silhouette” formula for spaceframe coupe and saloon cars built to strict regulations. These are designed to encourage close competition and keep costs tightly under control.
The championship will run exclusively for hot rod-based machines which have a passing resemblance to cars like the BMW Z4, Mercedes SLK, VW Corrado, Peugeot 206 and Vauxhall Tigra. The grid for race two at each of the eight rounds will again be partially reversed. Avon Tyres' support includes discounted tyres and other incentives, and Creative Construction Services will sponsor a Seniors Cup for drivers over 50.
The championship starts at Brands Hatch on March 25/26 as part of the Easter Truck Meeting. It also travels to Snetterton, Rockingham and Donington during the season. The championship concludes on November 4/5 back at Brands Hatch.
The Sevenesque series is designed to cater primarily for front engined sports and kit cars. This includes Caterhams, Westfields, Tigers plus one offs like the Fletcher Hornet. All you have to do in order to compete is join BARC southeast centre, which costs £50 for 12 months. The registration fee for this series is £40. At each meeting there will be at least two 15 minute races. The classes are based on power to weight ratios, to give all competitors a fair chance and everyone must use treaded tyres from lists 1A, 1B and 1C in the 2017 MSA blue book or slick racing tyres.
